Mount Princeton Spa is situated in The Rocky Mountains, just a few hours drive south from Denver, Colorado. There is a separate pool and area for adults only. The pools and building for all ages has a very hot pool and a warm pool. We enjoyed the warm pool and floating was easy in the naturally salty water. We spent most of our time enjoying the natural springs. There were mini pools of water surrounded by rocks. The mountain stream cooled off the rocks, and the sand held the hot water. We stirred up the sand with our feet every so often to heat up our pool of water. The kids enjoyed climbing over the rocks to discover other pools of water. We each found a rock to lean up against and soak in the salty, warm water. We visited in late October after the tourist season so the pool with the water slides was closed. We hiked up to a higher elevation to take in the beautiful scenery. The view of the Spa and Mount Princeton was breathtaking. The main dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a deli that makes fresh smoothies. We stayed in the motel just a short walk from the restaurant. They also have cabins to rent near the chalet. We had a great time and I recommend visiting this hot spring that was discovered in the 1800’s.
Boulder, Colorado is an hour drive from Aurora, a subdivision of Denver. We checked out Boulder’s Pearl St. outdoor mall for the afternoon. This outdoor mall has so much character.Don’t miss going into Peppercorns. The place is filled with so many beautiful treasures. There are so many amazing statues! The sweet chocolate smell led us to the Piece Love Chocolate store. There was so much chocolately yumminess! The girls each picked out their animal shaped chocolate and enjoyed them to the last bite. They had a collection of beautiful wedding cakes!
Did I mention there were lots of statues?!? The girls had fun posing for these pictures. They shared hugs with Alvin. We viewed a very flexible man showing off his moves and heard some live music! The coolness in the air did not stop the girls from running through the Dancing Water! We ended our pleasant day in Boulder enjoying lunch at The Cheesecake Factory! Then it was time to drive home.
Elitch Park, downtown Denver is a great place to visit for fun rides and water slides. The water park and amusement are joined together and your admission covers both areas.
FUN TIMES IN COLORADO!
