We boarded a Cruise Boat in the Santa Cruz Harbor to cruise to San Augustine Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Huatulco. This cruise was organized by Lenore in Huatulco for The Food Bank. I took some pictures when we were leaving Santa Cruz harbor. There are many colorful smaller boats in the harbor. The military base could be seen from our tour boat. Sometimes we hear them practice firing or an army helicopter circling around the tree areas. You can also reach San Augustine by land , but I have heard the road can be very rough at times. We cruised close enough to the shoreline to see the beautiful rock formations and other beaches.
Can you see the man’s face in the first picture?
A small boat loaded us up in groups to take us to San Augustine shoreline. The small boat was a bit tipsy, but we managed to fill up the boat without tipping over and made it to shore. When we got there, we decided to have lunch in one of the restaurants, La Casa del Abuelo. First of all we had to hail the waitress over to take our order. Then I finally went up to her to see if she had put our order in. It was not busy at all. When we finally got our orders, the food was just okay. We had limited time on this beach and we wanted to take in as much as we could.
The beach is beautiful and the clear ocean is very refreshing for swimming. On the cruise back they took us further away from the shoreline to see turtles swimming and other sea creatures. This was a great way to see San Augustin Beach. The price was only about $20 Canadian dollars.
