Nelson, B. C. is nestled among tree laden mountains and sits on the shores of the clear and very cool Kootenay Lake. This beautiful city is located in the central, southern part of British Columbia. Fortunately I have been able to visit for each of the four seasons.
Nelson beach on the Kootenay Lake is huge with lots of white sand to settle in for the day. Lakeside park has many play structures for the kids and young at heart to enjoy themselves. Great place for all you water skiing enthusiasts!
We loved the ride on the Heritage Street car. The kids loved when the conductor asked them if they wanted to step on the button to make the horn blow.
Baker Street has many unique shops and restaurants to explore. You may even see locals visiting on the street corners with hot coffee in hand no matter what the season. The Nelson community are proud of their heritage buildings and have worked hard to maintain them.
Every year in May a Nelson Garden Festival is held. You may not want to miss the entertainment! Heritage, Baker Street has so much to offer with it quaint eating and shopping places!
If you love to golf, you will not have any problem finding a scenic golf course.
Spring in Nelson brings mild temperatures to enjoy the outdoors. I was excited to see a privately owned helicopter land near our private beach rental.
