Okanagan Lake, Kelowna, BC September 2017, I spent an enjoyable day with friends on their pontoon boat, cruising the beautiful Okanagan Lake which is 84 miles long. We started out with a fantastic lunch at The Cactus Club on the shoreline of the Okanagan Lake. The service and food are always excellent there. I have had the fish tacos several times because they are one of the most tasty I have ever had.
This time a couple of us enjoyed the Salt&Pepper Wings and the fish looked delicious. We all enjoyed our choices off the menu.
Just a short walk through the Marina and we arrived at Gary and Cheryle’s pontoon boat. Len and Donna and I were fortunate to have been invited for this wonderful day on the lake. One side of the lake is quite barren. The opposite side shows plenty of vegetation and white sand beaches. This is where you will find Summerland and Peachland. We saw kids jumping off one of the cliffs. We cruised past Snake Island, not somewhere I would want to visit anytime soon.
We ended our great day dining at Eldorados, another wonderful restaurant on the shoreline. I was pleasantly surprised to see they supply free parking stalls for your boat. Coming from the prairies, I had never experienced that before. We all enjoyed our food choice from the menu at Eldorodos Restaurant. I highly recommend it!
We had a beautiful day to cruise along the shorelines of the Okanagan. I apologize to Captain Gary for not getting a picture of him guiding us around the lake. Maybe next year???
There is so much to experience in Kelowna. Be sure to visit to enjoy the vineyards, beaches, food, scenery and the unique excursions.
